I have bigger plans for Lorna. You’ll know where she fits into X-MEN BLUE when the next issue comes out!
OH MY GOD, I can’t wait, I can’t wait anymore. I have a good feeling that she’s going to become a member of the X-MEN BLUE :)
She is a member except that she is something better than just a team member. She’s a leader.
Polaris and Havok: X-Men Blue #9 (Art) By Cory Smith and Thony Silas (Manipulated by Me J.C.-Art)
Nice. I feel bad for Havok but he had it coming.
Can someone explain to me how X-Men Blue issue #8-9 (Lorna’s return) was
hijacked by Havok? Where we see Havok getting his ass kicked by the
Mistress of Magnetism? Where she than went along kicking others asses?
Where it stated she was the headmistress of the O5? Where Havok only had
4 panels while Lorna had 7 strong ones? Does this have to do with Havok
interacting with Lorna after 7 long years? Is this their excuse to
troll around Lorna? Should I keep writing my sentences with a question
mark?
Love your last line LOL
Lol. Nice one.
Ha. This is more than everyday internet trolling. They will only take
action if somebody says, “Polaris was fabulous in X-M Blue” or “Lorna
was such a badass and received some nice developments”. Throughout the X-M Blue, only
Polaris has really caught my eye immediately.
Edit: Has anyone thought about what might happen to them in the new Uncanny X-M?
So far we don’t know yet but I’m hoping for them to meet up as friends.
As for the trolls… it’s really quite simple. To begin, you frame the scenario by telling people in the group how bad she was treated from covers to panels through stories. They just can’t imagine the absolute perfect significant role that Polaris played in X-men Blue. Gracefully telling people to fuck off is therapeutic. Polaris was better treated here and was given many opportunities to shine throughout the X-men Blue. People complaining about EVERYTHING are obviously jealous of the character. They expect to see the story of Malice possessing Polaris for 7 issues straight. I mean, ain’t that shit old? Outdated?
I’m not upset about the story of Malice being shortened because the piece was only a worthless replication.
Who wants to see the same thing over and over? Polaris beating the hell out of Malice once and for all was something we were all expecting instead having Malice take over the whole issue. Apparently Polaris kicking Malice’s ass was an issue since she was not possessed long enough (?????).
I’ll say fuck off then. What fan would want this? Cullen Bunn did amazing with Polaris and glad he was being original as he always is.
Polaris hasn’t been with Havok for over a decade or so. If people still using the same old bullshit they are obviously trolling. Only the crudest, most obvious, forms of trolling can be identified so easily.
Obviously, obvious troll is obvious.
Polaris kicking Havok’s ass was a dream come true.
I agree. Except now they are not using Havok… they are using Genosha. A story that I’m about to discuss very soon.

This scene was such badass. This is where Polaris was teaching some of the young x-men.

Disney owning the rights back has nothing to do with Lorna losing anything. Besides, now they can use Lorna more often in many things since it seems back then they were protecting her or keeping her away from the eyes of FOX (even though The Gifted is just one of many Marvel TV properties).
I don’t fear or think Disney/Marvel are going to take her parentage away from her. Her parents are dead and Magneto is the only family she has and she was introduced as Magneto’s daughter in her first appearance to begin with. EVERYBODY now knows Polaris is Magneto’s daughter and even The Gifted show hinted at the obvious. Marvel can’t just throw away Lorna’s origins and I don’t think Marvel has done that to any of the characters. The father and daughter Its too ingrained in their character
to deviate from their path. So I don’t see what people are worried about.
As for the twins, I don’t think Disney/Marvel is ever going to retcon the twins back to Magneto even though that’s what they were in the first place…a retcon. So Marvel retconned them once AGAIN.

I’m suggesting as Magneto saying “No” as to he’s not alone and that he still has one biological daughter which is Lorna Dane aka Polaris aka Mistress of Magnetism. Not only were the twins retconned from their parentage but they also made the twins non-mutant.
Of course (in people’s minds), now that Marvel Studios can say the word mutant, It would be easy to make them Magneto’s kids, but making them mutants again would be a bit tricky. Even with Disney now owning Fox there’s no reason to change this, especially with Pietro and Wanda’s origins already established that their parents were killed by a bombshell. Magneto and the twins aren’t related in the movies and I don’t think it would work trying to change it, especially with Quicksilver already gone. I don’t think Quicksilver would be in the new Scarlet Witch tv show. We already know that the X-Men are going to reboot after the Phoenix movie. Ever wonder why it’s taking too long to release the New Mutants or Phoenix’s film? Probably Disney holding things back and hopefully Disney won’t destroy it.
Anyway, after discovering Magneto was not their father, they went in the search of their true parentage and this is what they discovered.

They ended up being a creation and Marvel kept Magneto and Polaris out of their relationship. That wasn’t the only twist in this comic. It turns out that Wanda and Pietro have a sister named Luminous. I don’t think I need to highlight the benefits of all this. But Marvel’s intention was to give Lorna all the room for herself.

As for why their origins are being altered at all, the prevailing theory
is that Marvel wants to make the comics more like the movies.
Now that both the comic book and movie versions of the characters are no
longer mutants, it would seem that’s no longer a problem for them.
One thing I want you people to be clear after reading this is that I am not the company. I am not the one who destroyed Magneto’s family nor intend for this to happen. But many fans out there (including me) were outraged how Marvel separated the family and eventually people started realizing that the twins never made sense as Magneto’s kids. The twins never liked Magneto and always hated him while Polaris was always the contrary. I believe that’s why Marvel made it official for the magnetism family.
The twins might not be… canonical family. Alternately they are family but not like we wanted them to be. For example Marvel always had Magneto killing his “children”. He killed Pietro in the House of M

He also killed Scarlet Witch in Old Man Hawkeye

Not even in the alternate universe can they get along without killing each other.
There is not even one panel showing Magneto killing Polaris.
I don’t know what Marvel is implying but I do know with Polaris Marvel has a different view as Magneto’s daughter.
Marvel always has Magneto and Polaris interacting and understanding each other very well (not only physically but emotionally) and without killing each other.
Lorna has always sided with her father despite their beliefs.

Lorna stood by her father fighting their Last Day

Not too long into X-men Blue, she teamed up with her father and helped him to carry out his plans.

They even went out for dinner together like father and daughter would normally do. The twins never had this and don’t ask me, ask Marvel..

Together they linked each other’s power and destroyed Mojo’s broadcast.

Even in the alternate universe, she can be found by her father’s side helping him.

House of M 2005

House of M: Fantastic Four

House of M 2015 was where we discovered Lorna was his favorite child

And as always, she was by her dad’s side while the twins were against him.

They were shown together fighting and helping each other on many different occasions.
occasion 1

Occasion 2

Occasion 3

Occasion 4

Occasion 5

Occasion 6

and I wonder how many more occasion there are out there.
But most importantly, Magneto got to meet his daughter when she was a toddle while he met the twins when they were already adults.

He knew who his daughter was all along but he didn’t know anything about the twins til later on only to find out they weren’t his. What I’m trying to say is Disney/Marvel always put these two bonding together as a father and daughter would be and that she’s obviously the only true heir. On the other hand, Marvel always put the twins at war with their “dad” and hating, killing, dismantling each other. Magneto never damaged Polaris like he damaged the twins. I’m all for Marvel restoring the family back together because even retconning them back, it will never take away Lorna’s right to her father’s (throne) legacy. Lorna is Magneto’s priority because in Wolverine and The X-Men (cartoon), Polaris was the one to carry on his legacy.

@marvelentertainment knows this very well :)
The rightful heir :)

Oh geeezz…
No, it’s not true and yes, I saw the DP’s trailer and???
Let me assure you anon that Marvel has nothing to do with the X-Men: Dark Phoenix movie nor Fox intention was to steal Lorna’s origin. In Lorna’s origin, she killed her parents accidentally and it happens that Jean did too. Lorna was in the airplane and Jean in the car. Both were little girls and manifested their powers sooner than any other mutants. I understand their similarities but we all know Lorna’s origin came first and is canon in the Marvel comics while Jean’s “origin” in the Dark Phoenix is non-canon.
The difference is that Lorna was younger than Jean when she first manifested her power. She was barely 3 years old. Anyway
in Lorna’s origin, her mother Suzanna, and her husband, Arnold, were into an argument when Arnold discovered the affair between Lorna’s mother and Magneto. He even did a DNA test and that’s how he knew Lorna was not his daughter.

So when he later learned of this affair, he confronted his wife while he was flying her and Lorna on his plane (yup! they were rich people). Upsetting the toddler Lorna whose desperation to make her parents stop fighting caused an early manifestation of her immense magnetic abilities, which caused a magnetic pulse that destroyed the plane and killed her parents…

…as well
as giving her hair its iconic green color.
:)

Lorna survived the crash and
was found by her true father, Magneto, who had been drawn to the
location by her magnetic pulse. This is how her parents died and she didn’t mean to. She was so little.
We all know (at least I know for a fact) that in Jean’s origin, in the Marvel comics (Uncanny X-Men #241 where her origin were told), her power manifested when she was 10, when her best friend, Annie was hit by a car. The emotion that Jean felt as she held her dying friend awakened her own latent telepathic powers. This traumatic event left Jean unstable and couldn’t control her newly awakened telepathic abilities.

At the age 11,
a psychiatrist recommended to her parents that they consult a colleague of his, Professor Charles Xavier, who was secretly a mutant with telepathic abilities of his own. And that’s where her parents sent her, to Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters. Lorna’s origin however is quite different.
Just because 20th Century Fox changed her origin after they established in The Last Stand that professor went to get her at her parents house in order to help her control her ability and that anon, is canon. X3: Jean Grey as a child. We’re know Fox’s timelines are all terribly a mess since X-1.
Again, that’s not Marvel’s doing or their proper film. It’s Fox and it doesn’t mean anything knowing the Fox cinematic has nothing to do with canon Marvel comics. The film of Dark Phoenix is just another timeline and is going to be rebooted, anyway. How is Fox stealing Lorna’s origin when early today it was stated by Marvel/Fox that
‘The Gifted’ Season 2 Will Explore Polaris’ Comics Accurate Origin
Here is one quote “The Gifted is going to explore Lorna Dane’s origin story in its second season, and FOX’s series is drawing straight from Marvel’s X-Men comics for Polaris’ backstory.”
You want more links? Here they are. Thanks to my friend who send me those links below.
The Gifted: Polaris’ Origins Will Be Explored in Season 2
The Gifted: Polaris is Close to the Comics, Beyond Magneto Connection
It looks like we’re about to discover Lorna’s origin first since the Dark Phoenix is going to debut Jun 7 2019 :)
Stop looking every little (stupid) excuses to downplay Polaris :P
‘Dark Phoenix’ Is the End of an ‘X-Men’ Era
Vanity Fair: “In the final days before it’s absorbed by Disney and potentially folded into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the X-Men film franchise will take one more stand with Dark Phoenix”
CBR: “Disney previously signaled its intention to release every Fox film completed or in production
by the time the acquisition is finalized. However, the entertainment
conglomerate is expected to scale back production on pricier projects
and those that don’t fit into the company’s family- and
franchise-friendly formula.”
Forbes: “Dark Phoenix may be a kind of series finale to the 18.5-year old X-Men franchise
prior to the Disney deal which would bring those characters under the
umbrella of Kevin Feige’s Marvel Cinematic Universe.”
TheMarySue: “The trailer for Dark Phoenix came out this week. It is the last installment in the 20th Century Fox X-Men universe before Disney/Marvel eventually relaunches the franchise.
It’s hard to believe that the X-Men universe we know today is as old as a senior in high school right now, but the 18-year-old series has been mostly a failure with one of the biggest failures being the 2006 film X-Men: The Last Stand. Looking at the trailer for this upcoming film, it seems like a lot of the same.”
“what they’re actually saying here is that Fox want to really fuck the Xmen franchise over properly before Marvel Studios gets it…”
Those are just a few. if you want more, search it yourself.
That said, in 2020 or so, the X-Men will finally be in the MCU timeline. Therefore, everything is going to be
entirely rebooted and starting from scratch. A new fresh era of the X-Men will begin from this point forward. I’m talking about where we can see the O5 as the core members and suddenly becoming a story for the Krakoa event. Here is where we get to see how the X-Men first gathered and became the X-Men we forever (knew) know today. Just saying since
Marvel usually wants to make the comics more like the movies. Perhaps the Krakoa story line can be a fresh start? If Marvel’s going to introduce the X-Franchise as a fresh start it will has to begin with the Krakoa event because it can be offered up in the memory of Len Wein who passed away not too long ago and Dave Cockrum who were the reason for the X-Men we know today.
Maybe we get to see Havok, Polaris, Banshee, Warpath, Wolverine, Colossus, Storm, Nightcrawler and Sunfire in this new era for the Krakoa event. Bold characters are the characters that FOX hasn’t used and will give Marvel a chance to explore them in the MCU before meeting Magneto. Yes, I know, Polaris is in The Gifted where FOX/Marvel are doing a really good job with her character but that’s a different timeline, taking place after the DOFP events. Speaking of Polaris, there are many things FOX failed to introduce that Marvel can now look into and introduce them in the MCU after X-Men: Dark Phoenix, which might be the last “X-Men” film before they join the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The only think that I don’t know how will work in the MCU is the House of M. I don’t know how that’d work knowing the twins aren’t Magneto’s kids, let alone are no longer mutants. In my perspective, maybe Marvel can add a few random kids besides Polaris to be his kids for that timeline specifically. Or maybe have Scarlet Witch going crazy into wanting to bring her brother back and created the House of M so she can be with her brother. I don’t know. It’s just doesn’t make sense, but I would like to see a House of M movie.
All I know is that I can’t wait for Marvel to reboot everything and make a fresh start by using stories that FOX never got the chance to use. Inferno, X-Factor, Shi’ar, Starjammers, and Krakoa come to mind where Havok and Polaris are mostly in all of them.
PS: If you don’t like the idea of Havok and Polaris together well that’s your problem and your opinion.
Let us preface with this that yes, I’m aware that you have every right to your opinion. However, your opinion probably doesn’t matter, even when you think it does. Most of the time, my opinion doesn’t matter. And neither does yours. Opinions are great. We all have them. Your opinions have no basis in defining what you’re all about. They
aren’t the truth. They have no purpose other than to hurt or harm the characters you pretend to like.
There is no rhyme or reason beyond making the other characters feel superior
to them in some way or another.
It’s not about you, it’s about them.
Oh I truly can’t wait to see Marvel taking on these stories. X-factor and Inferno might be my #1 on the list. One thing for sure that I’d like to see on screen is the Acolytes. Very well said, though.
I agree wholeheartedly. I always wanted to see Marvel filming the INFERNO story. Something similar like @lorna-magnus stated a couple years ago. Here is her link (Malice) describing how the film should be played with Polaris as Malice. I thought it was cool and this was in a conversation of one of my replies to a troll. Don’t ask me just read :)
I also can’t wait for the X-Factor and of course, the Krakoa. I’m glad Fox didn’t screen all those above:)
I’m so excited for Marvel taking over. I’m sure @marvelentertainment will use Lorna in many stories in the forthcoming years. They already saw how good Lorna is in The Gifted and many fans are in love with her. Last year (2018) it was an excellent year for Lorna with many promotions all around the Marvel industry and Fox. Including fans art. I’m going to do a 2019 very soon :)
How did @timetraveltravez-blog predict this? Who would’ve known that after this post a Krakoa event was going to be established in the comic?
Hopefully, we get to see this in the MCU.

TBH, my explanation is that people get upset no matter what you do. Trying to please people is a fool’s errand that I have given up on. People are not a hive mind (and they also love to bitch) so no matter what you do, SOMEONE is gonna be unhappy. I’ve just had to learn to let it go.
Yes, I agree! You’re absolutely right! I’ll take your advise. I just hate the fact that “they” think Storm can do everything lol the logic of their argument lol. I blame “them” for making Storm too overrated.
BTW, I love the book. You guys are doing amazing. I truly can’t wait to see what’s going on. So excited! I have nothing negative to say.
LMAO. I know what you mean. You can’t trust these people from CBR. They don’t follow canon and they post unconnected panels. The fact that they are trying to say Storm should’ve detected Magneto and not Polaris is beyond trolling.. LMAO. They are comparing Vindicator energy with Magneto… someone that has nothing to do with the magnetic field itself. Vindicator is not magnetic. Storm stating she can find him in the air is because Vindicator leaves a disruption in the air. This panel doesn’t prove anything about her ability to locate or sense Magneto. Polaris can and so does Magneto. I mean, they’re both magnetic… if people don’t know that they’re stupid. This mean Polaris is the only one who can sense her father since Vindicator is completely different.
Also, the bubble question it’s crystal clear that it’s pointing directly to Storm’s mouth LMAO.
CBR is a bad place to be. The site is nothing but trash. Polaris is a mutant who can charge her electric energy and store it for better use. A charger capacitor stores electric energy, and an inductor with current flowing through it stores magnetic energy. Her human body stores appreciable electric energy, because it conducts electricity too well (blood is a salt solution) to hold electric charge. Also, her electrical currents in her body are huge, so her appreciable magnetic energy is generated. Polaris doesn’t have to do anything, she can just sense it. It’s part of her abilities. Magneto leaving a
magnetic
trace of energy
behind has nothing to do with weather. Vindicator is another story. I agree, it’s beyond trolling. Storm can’t do any of this.
Exactly, they don’t know Polaris’s powers. so due to pure ignorance, they choose to devalue her. She has shown some of the greatest feats in Marvel. You would think just based on pure respect for the character, they would stop hating but no, they choose to show the hate, envy, and disrespect other characters. So, let’s go there. Keep reading…
Storm can never be compared to Polaris, NEVER. All she can do is fly and make it rain…bitch is useless. If I need my lawn watered or a kite rescued from a tree, I’ll call her. Otherwise she’s useless. Comparing Storm with Polaris as if Storm has the same ability like those of Polaris and Magneto is more than envious. What they trying to say is that Storm is basically A COPY OF POLARIS SINCE SHE WAS CREATED FIRST IN 1968 and STORM IN 1975. They should be comparing Storm with Crystalia Amaquelin if they don’t like the idea that Cuckrum did made Storm lookalike a copy of another icon character.
I bet what ever those trolls said on those CBR thread are 30% of that post was out of context, 10% was not canon, and the last 60% was biased ranting. She can only manipulate weather, nothing beyond that. She controls the weather, in short. However, she doesn’t control the parts. For example, she can summon lightning. She can’t control electricity. She can summon the rain, but she’s not a hydrokinetic. She can lower the temperature or make it snow, but she can’t control ice. And that’s because Storm is limited by range, her own strength, and the limits of the environment. She cannot make weather where it can’t exist. No rainstorms in space, for example. Some people thought they understand the logic in storm’s power. In the comic, they’re all overpowered and make their power ridiculously non-logical! Storm’s power links to Earth environment so she should only be able to use weather element up to the limit that the Earth has to offer, period. She doesn’t control all forms of energy… only Crystalia Amaquelin can. The fact that she’s an elemental who can control the four elements while Storm is not a normal elemental because she only manipulate the weather (not fire, Earth, water like Crystal, because she can control all the forms of energy). People just need to stop speculating. They go around taking the powers of other characters they envy and adding it to Storm. *SMFH*
I never understood why those trolls trying to compared her with all the
characters they see and say “she can do pretty much anything they can”. ????? Again,
that’s bullshit.
Sometime I think Storm’s “power” doesn’t come naturally. In Earth environment, wind cannot travel like 600 miles per hour or the pressure of air can never ever be able to deflect bullet. Even a thick cube of plastic couldn’t even stop a bullet from penetrating deep inside so what make you think increase air pressure can help????? Creating storm in one people’s lung? Bullshit! The environment in the lung is not favorable for any weather condition to form but Crystal was able to do that. Storm “can” suck out air from one’s lung by using vortex AROUND the person, NOT by controlling the air molecules to get out. Only telekinesis can do that. Storm’s power is not controlling the molecules themselves but spiritually link to the Earth!!! How can a tornadoes form like instantly? It takes time! Should not overcome the physic laws!
Hurricane force winds whip around at 100 to 250 miles per hour, on
estimate. That’s nature. But Storm can summon winds, while underground,
to ferry a bomb through miles of twisting, turning tunnels to the
surface in just a few seconds, without being able to see precisely where
she’s guiding it? Bullshit.
I never understood Storm and I’m such a huge fan. All the other X-Men, to me at least, seemed
to have “internalized” powers… something that is within themselves or
derives from within themselves (like Polaris, Jean, etc). But Storm? She “manipulate the weather”.
To me, that’s not an innate mutant ability, that’s witchcraft or some
form of sorcery. I could never intellectually justify it (obviously,
most of them are rather outrageous, but my suspension of disbelief has
always been sorely tested with her).
it does raise some questions.
I agree. It does raise some questions. I have something for those downgrading Magneto’s daughter while pretending to be her fans.

Say no more!
EXACTLY LOL
I love the above panel. I love her transformation and the text, lol. One badass quote. Now let’s talk about the reality.
I so agree with most of you! Storm is Atmokinesis, the manipulation of weather systems, she
does not have electrokinesis. Storm is not like the other electrokinetics Static,
Electro, Electron, Black Lightning and a few others. And like most others, she’s not in this category. According to Marvel she is a weather manipulator. Nothing more! The In-Universe explanation of
her abilities is weather (not magnetic) manipulation. Every database, and scientist in
the Marvel Universe list her as a weather manipulator. She herself calls
her powers weather manipulation.

She is NOT electricity. She’s not like Lorna who can generate
electricity. This can’t harm Polaris like it harm Storm. Her own
lightning can harm her. She’s not an EM field. Which is the obvious
reason why Storm asks Polaris. She asked, so Storm got lectured. Yeah,
it was “one” significant dialogue but it was a dialogue that has all
Storm’s fans heated, lol. They can fool others but they can’t fool (me) the writers, because Storm is not an EM field. Writing her as one, is a bad writing. Her wiki is wrong (remember what I said about fanboy’s wiki).

Just so you know, Polaris is not looking at Nightcrawler. She’s looking around (probably the humans) detecting her father’s overwhelming presence; a powerful movement of the electromagnetic field. There is no comparison between such a Mistress of Magnetism and a weather manipulator. It’s stupid that we have to even discuss this. There are no defenses against stupidity. No matter how many idiots you suspect yourself surrounded by, you are invariably lowballing the total. This problem is compounded by biased assumptions that certain people are intelligent based on superficial factors like their education level, or other traits we believe to be exclusive of stupidity. How numerous are the stupid among us? It’s impossible to say. I agree with @1979semifinalist, we can’t do anything about the stupid.
And to answer your question @futuristicallyclassyheart, yes, Lorna is the ONLY ONE with the ability of magnetism aside from her father. I’m sure everybody knows this is true :)
I think the whole jealousy here is that Polaris’s doing quite beautifully in Uncanny X-men while Storm… well… you know. Yeah!
